Amazon’s Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) and delivery associates work hard every day to deliver smiles – and packages – to customers and most drivers may not even know how often they touch customers’ hearts with their service. Whether it’s the excitement of a long-awaited parcel arriving, or the delight of a last-minute same day delivery appearing on time – drivers always strive to bring joy to customers.
We also asked drivers to share a favorite customer moment in their own words. Here are their responses:
One day, I arrived at a customer's house, who by the way was an elderly woman. As usual, I delivered the package with a big smile. Seeing that made me realize that we as delivery associates can make a person’s day and give them a lot of joy.
I feel like a valuable part of the community when the customers greet me and wave when I pass by on the street. My best day was when I helped a mom hide the fact that my delivery was actually a Christmas gift for her daughter. I acted as if I was at the wrong door. She thanked me afterwards for my quick understanding of the situation.
Just before Christmas, an elderly woman was delighted to receive her parcels, that contained the gifts for her 5 grandchildren. Thankful for my service, she gifted me a delicious gingerbread.
One day I delivered a package to a lady. She came out with a huge smile thanking me, saying I was a hero. The package contained the bouquet of flowers that she would throw the next day at her wedding. She was anxiously awaiting the timely arrival of that package. I felt my work was truly appreciated that day.
