Amazon will create over 1,000 permanent jobs in its new fulfillment center in Poland over the next three years. The new center will be equipped with advanced Amazon Robotics technology.

Amazon today confirmed its plans for a 67,000-square-meter fulfillment center in Kolbaskowo. Amazon will create more than 1,000 full-time jobs at the site within three years of opening. Growing customer demand across European markets encouraged company’s decision to further invest in Poland. Panattoni Europe has been selected as the investment’s developer.

"We’re excited to become a member of the Kolbaskowo community and create more than 1,000 full-time jobs, including many managerial positions, which offer competitive wages, comprehensive benefits and broad career development opportunities in our fast-growing global organization." said Steven Harman, Director of Amazon’s Operations in Continental Europe.

At the facility, Amazon employees will pick, pack and ship small items such as books, electronics and consumer goods to customers. Associates will work alongside innovative technologies, including Amazon Robotics, which will be used on a daily basis to fulfill customer orders.

The robots slide under a tower of shelves where products are stowed, lift it and move it through the fulfilment center. Robots help speed order processing times and reduce walking time by moving the shelves to employees, reducing the time taken to stow items for sale or pick them for new customer orders.

"We are trying to create the best investment conditions in Poland, for both Polish and foreign entrepreneurs, so I am glad that one of the biggest and most dynamically growing technology companies is expanding its operations in Poland. The investment will create over 1,000 new jobs. At the same time, I hope that the implementation of innovative robotics technology to support employees will further increase comfort in Amazon centers. I hope that the application of modern robots in distribution centers will coincide with the start of cooperation with universities so that young Polish engineers have the opportunity to acquire new skills, and then work with advanced robotics technologies. I am convinced that the new investment in Poland will include future benefits for both Polish consumers and small and medium-sized Polish enterprises by increasing their opportunities to enter global markets through cooperation with Amazon." said Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland.

"I am happy and thankful for this investment, because thanks to projects by such global companies as Amazon, the Szczecin metropolitan area will gain recognition throughout Europe and worldwide. I believe that as a result of this investment – and thanks to our natural advantages, i.e. location, connections with Western Europe and Scandinavia, as well as the scientific, workforce and cultural potential of the region’s capital – Szczecin will be the chosen location for further investments. I wish all the best to this enterprise and success in the future." says Piotr Krzystek, President of Szczecin and Chairman of the Szczecin Metropolitan Area Association.

"I am very pleased that Amazon has decided to locate its new investment in Kolbaskowo community. I am convinced that this will improve our labor market, and without any doubt will result in the development of Kolbaskowo. I also hope that the employment offer will extend to our residents, especially the young. New opportunities for personal development will emerge." said Malgorzata Schwarz, Mayor of Kolbaskowo.

"We look forward to serving as a catalyst for new growth in the area by working with local businesses and collaborating with national and local authorities, who have been so supportive of Amazon entering the region." added Steven Harman.

Amazon has invested more than PLN 3 billion in Poland to build and run its three fulfillment centers in Poznan and Wrocnaw, its Technology Development Center in Gdansk and the Amazon Web Services Office in Warsaw. Across Poland Amazon already created over 5700 full-time jobs and keeps on recruiting.

Amazon will start recruitment for the Kolbaskowo facility by attracting top talents for managerial positions in IT, Finance, HR, logistics, engineering and other departments. Amazon will also partner with top universities from the region to attract over 45 graduate talents who will join Amazon for area manager positions. Information on all job openings will be made available on this page

"Later in 2017 Amazon will start to recruit entry-level associates who will receive competitive pay and very attractive benefits including private health care, free transportation to and from work, life insurance, 26 days of holidays to all employees and 1 PLN hot meals. Amazon also pre-pays up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon, via its innovative Career Choice program." said Marta Dworowska Senior HR Manager for Amazon Operations in Poland.
