We are delighted to have been officially named as a Top 10 Inclusive Employer by the 2020 British LGBT+ Awards.

At Amazon, we want to ensure everybody feels welcome and comfortable to be their authentic selves from day one.

Amazon’s long-term commitment to LGBT+ diversity and inclusion includes support from our employee affinity group glamazon, which helped launch new guidance for transgender employees. In 2019, we kicked off the LGBT+ Reading Roadshow, visiting secondary schools around the country to celebrate the importance of diversity and inclusion through literature. Amazon Music also acts as official music partner for Pride in London.

In previous years, current and former Amazon employees Maureen Wanjiku, Christon Mallett and Luca Sale have all been among the British LGBT+ Awards’ Inspirational Leaders category. However, this is the first time Amazon has received recognition by the awards as an employer.

An independent judging panel will meet to select an overall winner, set to be announced at the British LGBT Awards ceremony on Friday 29 May in London.

A huge thank you to everybody who nominated Amazon and contributed to a wide range of exciting initiatives on LGBT+ issues. We’re excited to continue building an inclusive culture through knowledge sharing, employee support and creative initiatives.
