At Amazon, we see road safety as a shared responsibility — one that extends to every driver, passenger, and community we serve. That’s why we’re proud to support the Max Achtzig (‘Max 80 km/h’) campaign, a powerful road safety initiative based in Germany. This partnership has formed a key part of our commitment to safer transport operations across Europe.
The campaign was launched by the non-profit Hellwach mit 80 km/h e.V. and is led by former police director and safety advocate, Dieter Schäfer. The campaign promotes ten simple safety rules to reduce truck-related accidents, and aligns closely with the EU’s Vision Zero 2050 pledge, which we support.
Practical tools for real-world impact

The strength of Max Achtzig lies in its practical, real-world advice for truck drivers. From reducing speed to improving focus behind the wheel and prioritising rest, the campaign addresses the everyday realities of long-distance transport. These are small changes that, when adopted consistently, can make a big difference - not only in keeping drivers safe but in building a more responsible logistics culture overall.
This year, we’ve expanded our involvement by supporting the translation and distribution of Max Achtzig’s educational e-books. These resources, now available in multiple languages like Polish, English, and German, help make the campaign’s message accessible to more drivers across Europe. By equipping professional drivers with clear, engaging safety guidance, we’re helping to promote safer habits on the road.
In March 2025, we also shared the stage with the campaign’s organisers at the UN Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety, showcasing our strong partnership and highlighting our forward-thinking approach to road safety.
Our collaboration with Max Achtzig is one part of a much broader journey. As we continue to invest in safety, technology, and partnerships, we remain focused on the long-term goal: making every journey a safe one.
