Amazon announced it is hiring for 9,000 seasonal positions across its Polish network of fulfillment center to help serve customers during the winter season.
We are pleased with Amazon's declaration on increasing employment for seasonal workers, which confirms the interest of American capital in investing in Poland.
Entry-level employees’ wage starts at 22.5 PLN/h gross, all hourly employees are also entitled to a monthly bonus of up to an additional 15%. These wages apply for full-time, part-time, temporary and seasonal employees in all 10 locations across Poland. Last year, more than 6,500 seasonal positions transitioned into full-time roles after the winter holidays and the company expects to continue that trend this year.
“We prepare year-round for the Christmas season, and we’re excited to hire for over 9,000 positions this year,” said Marian Sepesi, Regional Director, Operations in CEE. “We look forward to welcoming back seasonal workers who return year-after-year to Amazon and to welcome new faces to the team.”
Jakub Kunat, Area Manager, who works at the Amazon center in Kołbaskowo near Szczecin, says: “I started working at Amazon during the pre-Christmas peak in 2017 in the product packaging department. After a month on the job, I became a department instructor, and within a year I was able to be promoted to Process Guide and Team Leader. After another year, I was promoted to Area Manager, a position I still hold today. I stayed at Amazon for longer because the company gave me a helping hand and developed my skills, which allows me to be where I am today. What I like most is working with people and helping employees in their development.”
Paula Gądek started as an agency worker in the product distribution department. A few months later, she was successfully recruited for the position of receptionist, her current permanent job position "I stared working at Amazon during the pandemic. The previous industry I worked in, the event industry, faced a lot of difficulties during this time. However, I never regretted my decision to switch. Working for Amazon means, above all, great opportunities for development which I did not find in my previous jobs,” said Paula Gądek, Change Management Support in the fulfillment center in Sosnowiec. "Initially, I did not associate my future with Amazon. Today I can say with full conviction that I have found my place. Amazon employs, above all, wonderful people, in a great atmosphere and, most importantly, treats people with great respect.”
Seasonal workers will join the more than 23,000 full-time employees at Amazon’s Polish sites across the country to help pick, pack and ship customers’ festive orders during the gift-giving season.
“The last quarter of each year usually sees an increase in the dynamics of employment in the service sector, and temporary workers are one of the key elements of the employment system during this period. In this context, we are pleased with Amazon's declaration on increasing employment for seasonal workers, which confirms the interest of American capital in investing in Poland” - said Tony Housh, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland.
