Estopa and Taburete kick off the Prime Day celebrations in Spain with a concert in Barcelona
Barcelona, 12 July 2019 – The Italian Pavilion at the Fira de Barcelona became a "huge Amazon box" last night, welcoming the first Prime Day Live concert from Amazon Music in Spain. Spanish groups Estopa and Taburete kick-started the Prime Day celebration in front of hundreds of the company's Prime customers. While on 10 July, lucky Amazon customers enjoyed performances from Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Becky G and SZA at the Prime Day Concert in New York and did the same in London for Rita Ora's live performance, yesterday was Spain's turn. The Muñoz brothers of Estopa, who are currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first album and who will also release a new album called 'Fuego' on 18 October, brought a devoted crowd to its feet with the duo's best songs. Meanwhile, Taburete, the Madrid-based band led by Willy Bárcenas and Antón Carreño, opened the proceedings with songs from their third album, 'Madame Ayahuasca', along with hits from previous records.
For the very first time, Spain has joined the growing number of Prime Day festivals being held by Amazon all over the world. After the kick-off in New York, Barcelona, Munich, Paris, Milan and London all joined the celebrations of the longest Prime Day ever. The first Prime Day Live concert in Spain was completely free and exclusive to Prime customers, who applied for tickets via the Amazon.es website. The lucky Prime customers who got two tickets to the concert also enjoyed plenty of surprises and gifts from Tanqueray, Durex, Pepsico, RedBull, Grefusa, Estrella Damm and Bimbo.
