- In May of this year, the company announced that it would create over 100 new jobs at a newly-established fulfilment center in Lodz, offering industry-leading pay and comprehensive benefits

- Now, Amazon is pleased to announce that an additional 500 jobs will be created on top of this within the upcoming 12 months – raising the total number of jobs created by the company in the Lodz region to 1,300.

Lodz, 27.07.2020 – Today, Lodz City Mayor Hanna Zdanowska announced the expansion of Amazon’s new fulfillment center in the region. An already existing 40,000 sq. m. facility – which will be opened this August – will be expanded by another 33,000 sq. m. This will result in the creation of over 500 new jobs over the course of the next 12 months, in addition to the 100 previously announced at the Amazon site. This will be Amazon’s ninth fulfillment center in Poland.

This is the third phase of Amazon’s investments in the Lodz region. The company already has 700 employees at its site in Pawlikowice, which was launched in the fall of 2019, and plans to create over 600 roles by the end of the year at its second facility in Lodz. These investments follow growing customer demand across Europe and significantly enlarge Amazon’s footprint in central Poland.

I am pleased to announce that Amazon has decided to continue investing in the Lodz region. The company will expand its existing facility and create another 500 new jobs. This investment is all the more special as it comes at a time that is demanding for both businesses and employees, as many companies are downsizing their workforce, cutting salaries and freezing investments due to coronavirus pandemic. These new jobs are highly important as they present employment opportunities and will become sources of income for many families in the Lodz region” – said Hanna Zdanowska, Mayor of the City of Lodz.

Amazon has started recruiting for a range of newly-created roles which include openings for engineers, HR and IT professionals, health & safety and finance specialists, and operations managers. People interested in applying for jobs at Amazon should visit this website.

Our positive experience with the highly-skilled and motivated employees from the region, as well as our fruitful cooperation with local authorities and businesses, has given us confidence that expanding our presence here was a good decision. Amazon is proud to announce its continued growth and further investments with the creation of even more permanent jobs. We are proud that over 16,000 people have already chosen Amazon as their employer in Poland. We aim to offer competitive wages, comprehensive benefits and broad career development opportunities. We believe that this new fulfillment center will help drive economic development in the Lodz region” – said Marian Sepesi, Regional Director at Amazon.
