“It’s been an incredible Amazon journey and there are now more than 2,000 Amazon employees living and working in the Grand Duchy,” said Amazon’s Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Jay Carney, when he received the Luxembourg-United States business award in New York on May 15.

Jay added when receiving the award from His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Guillaume: “We are proud to be one of the top employers in the country, and we continue to create more jobs, with a fantastic diversity of skills, from IT engineers to ecommerce specialists.”

By the start of 2018, there were over 2,000 full-time Amazonians working in Luxembourg, up by more than 500 in a year. We expect hundreds of additional roles to be added during 2018.

Apart from the leadership of our retail and operations teams, there is also a Development Centre with highly-skilled software development engineers working to build new technologies for tens of millions of customers around the world.

We also have a team from Amazon Web Services, Amazon devices like the Echo and Kindle along with support services, such as human resources, legal and finance for our activities.
