Warsaw, 24. January 2022. Since September 2021, Amazon created in Poland additional 2,000 permanent roles, bringing its total to more than 25,000. Employees in all roles receive a wide range of benefits such as private medical care, private health insurance and an employee discount. The associates in Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers, who have been employed for more than one year, can also access the Career Choice program, through which the company supports training programs in the subject of their choice, financing 95 percent of the tuition and the associated fees of up to 26,000 PLN in four years’ time.
"In the last ten years, we have become a part of the fabric of Polish life, and we are proud of that. We wouldn’t be able to grow on this scale without welcoming communities and professional support from central, regional and local authorities. Our top priority is to keep our employees safe – it comes before anything else, and that’s why we invest in safety, along with excellent pay and excellent benefits" – says Marian Sepesi, Regional Director at Amazon Operations Poland.
Amazon Fulfillment Poland has been recognized as Top Employer 2022 in Poland. This certificate, awarded by the Top Employers Institute, endorses Amazon’s commitment to its fulfillment center employees. It is one of the most demanding and prestigious certificates in the world in the field of human resource management, which recognizes the quality of the work environment, professional development opportunities and programs enjoyed by Amazon employees. “All certified Top Employers have continued to show that they prioritize maintaining excellent people practices in the workplace and are making a positive impact on the lives of their workforce.”
In addition to Poland, Amazon has also been recognized as a Top Employer in Italy, Spain, and in France, highlighting its inclusion and diversity policies. Amazon shares a culture where inclusion is the norm – valuing gender equality and diversity as a driver of innovation and creativity.
"Poland is already at a stage of economic development where not only the number of new roles is important, but also the conditions and quality of employment. Therefore, it is very important to appreciate companies that pay attention to the application of the best HR practices. We hope that Amazon will continue its efforts to create high quality jobs and that the largest possible number of investors present in our country will follow suit" – says Cezary Kaźmierczak, the President of the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers.
Inclusion is high on the priority list at Amazon, whether in terms of gender parity, recruitment and inclusion of persons with disabilities, or diversity of social and cultural background. A culture firmly rooted in the company's values.
"Working for Amazon has always been a great challenge for me. It allowed me to grow personally and professionally from day one. I’ve always felt that it is a job that fits me - my workloads and timelines were always manageable. It is an environment where you can be yourself and grow at the same time" – says Anna Grabowska, who works in Amazon Fulfillment Center in Kolbaskowo near Szczecin.
In an anonymous survey, almost 80% of the company's employees in the fulfillment centers in Poland give top grades for their job at Amazon.
