As severe flooding impacts communities across the Iberian Peninsula, our hearts go out to all those affected by recent storms. Over the past weeks, Storms Kristin, Joseph, and Leonardo have brought devastating rainfall to Spain and Portugal, causing widespread flooding and displacing more than 11,000 residents across Cádiz, Málaga, Jaén in Spain; and Alcácer do Sal, Leiria, Lisbon, coastal Alentejo, and Western regions in Portugal. Amazon is deeply concerned about the impact these floods are having on families and communities throughout both countries. We are taking immediate action to provide support and relief during this challenging time. We are donating and delivering emergency supplies through our European Disaster Relief Hub to help communities recover as quickly as possible.

Amazon is working with the Spanish Red Cross in Andalusia and the Portuguese Red Cross to donate and deliver essential relief items. Our European Disaster Relief Hub in Germany is stocked with essential relief items and medical supplies to get aid when and where it's needed as quickly as possible. Amazon uses the same fast delivery network and cutting-edge technology that get packages to doorsteps every day to deliver essential items to our nonprofit partners on the ground.

In response to this emergency, Amazon has dispatched more than 9,000 items of specialised flood recovery equipment to support relief efforts across both countries. This includes coveralls and respirators, water pumps, pressure washers, and other essential supplies. These materials will support Red Cross emergency response teams as they help vulnerable populations - including the elderly and people with disabilities - clean their homes and return to normal life as quickly as possible.

Amazon remains in constant contact with the Red Cross teams in Spain and Portugal to provide ongoing support during this difficult situation.

Since 2017, Amazon has responded to more than 200 natural disasters around the world, donating and delivering more than 26 million essential supplies.
