The Amazon Sustainability Accelerator (ASA) Climate Tech programme gives startups and scale-ups the opportunity to pilot their sustainable technology at scale within Amazon's European logistics network. Run in with Founders Intelligence, Accenture's innovation strategy consultancy, the eight-week programme supports startups developing solutions for the logistics and industrial sectors — and offers successful participants to run a fully funded pilot within Amazon's European operations.

It can take years for climate tech startups to bring a product to a large-scale pilot at a global organisation. The ASA Climate Tech programme was built to fast-track that process. Since its 2024 launch, 28 startups from a pool of over 1,100 applicants have joined, and over $3 million in equity-free pilots have been funded across 16 projects. Startups from the first two cohorts — such as Shayp, Cartesian, Valua, and HT Materials Science — are already piloting solutions across Amazon's European fulfilment network in areas like energy, water, and waste, with early results informing decisions on wider implementation.

For the 2026 cohort, Amazon has selected 11 startups and scale-ups from six countries across Europe. Over eight weeks, they will work intensively with Amazon's operations and sustainability teams to develop the business case for implementing their technology within Amazon's European fulfilment network. The programme culminates in a pitch to Amazon senior leadership, who will determine which participants move forward with fully funded pilots. Participants also receive mentorship, workshops with specialists, and $10,000 in AWS Activate credits — Amazon Web Services' programme providing startups with free cloud resources.

Carbon Track

Bonvan (France)

Bonvan is a French climate-tech company developing small-scale wind turbines designed for rapid installation. Founded by Benjamin Graux and Loris Goyet, who met while studying engineering at École Centrale de Lyon, the company was born from a personal search for a practical way to generate local, low-carbon electricity without the complexity and cost of conventional small wind systems. Bonvan's turbines install in as little as two hours without permanent foundations or, in most cases, building permits, making on-site wind energy accessible for businesses, communities, and rural sites. Bonvan joins the Carbon track to explore on-site wind for logistics operations.

Solum (Spain)

Solum is a Spanish climate-tech company that has developed a solar pavement you can walk and drive on, turning everyday surfaces such as car parks and walkways into clean energy generators. Founded in 2019 by three engineers who shared a vision of making solar energy accessible in space-constrained urban environments, Solum's portable pavers install without civil works and can be reused between sites, overcoming the structural and regulatory limits of rooftop solar. Solum joins the Accelerator to explore whether its solar pavement could help generate on-site renewable energy at logistics facilities.

UV Energy (Germany)

UV Energy develops modular solar carports that can be installed without permanent foundations or heavy construction, along with AI-supported planning software that transforms existing parking infrastructure into on-site solar power stations. Co-founded in 2022 by serial deep-tech entrepreneur Nicolai Ensslen and energy-transition specialist Kai Steffen Theurer, the company targets commercial parking areas as one of the world's largest underutilised asset classes for renewable electricity generation. UV Energy's turn-key approach eliminates traditional civil engineering, shortening installation timelines and helping businesses expand solar energy capacity without consuming new land. Through the Accelerator, the company aims to refine its solution, define its international rollout strategy, and connect with partners who share its vision.

MagnoTherm (Germany)

​​Spun out of the Technical University of Darmstadt's Functional Materials group, MagnoTherm uses a magnetic cooling process and water, instead of the greenhouse gases found in conventional fridges and air conditioners, to deliver cooling. The team has been among the earliest to bring this type of cooling to market and brings multiple platform products to the Accelerator to explore cooling applications across Amazon's operations. ​

HeatVentors (Hungary)

HeatVentors develops intelligent Thermal Batteries that store and release heat on demand. Co-founded by Zoltán Andrássy and Rita Farkas, who began collaborating on heat storage research at Budapest University of Technology, the company launched commercially in 2017 after four years of academic R&D and two working prototypes. HeatVentors' compact units integrate with existing HVAC and building management systems, enabling organisations to reduce energy consumption, manage peak demand, and recover waste heat. ​​

Verv provides AI-driven HVAC monitoring, control, and maintenance intelligence for commercial buildings, with or without an existing Building Management System. Founded in 2015 by Peter Davies, the company uses high-frequency electrical data and machine learning to analyse and address energy consumption. Verv's retrofit hardware gives operators asset-level visibility, helping them reduce energy waste, identify developing faults, and improve refrigerant management. The solution installs with minimal disruption, making it particularly suited to large portfolios of mixed-age buildings across the property sector today.

Water Track

Nereus (France)

Nereus is a French company in wastewater treatment and reuse, designing and operating industrial systems that let businesses recycle water directly on-site. The company's roots trace back to 2013, when founder Emmanuel Trouvé, a former Veolia R&D director, recognised that certain industrial effluents could be treated as a resource rather than waste. Nereus has grown from its first in-house machine, still recycling wastewater in Dubai, into a substantial operation delivering circular water solutions across industry, agri-food, tourism, and municipal services.

Qatium (Spain)

Qatium is an AI-powered open intelligence platform for water, that turns complex network data into real-time insights for water utilities. Co-founded by Roberto Tórtola and Jaime Barba, the company spent six years developing and validating its predictive digital twin technology directly with end users before its commercial launch in 2025. Qatium helps water networks optimise operations, prevent leaks, and build climate-resilient infrastructure, making advanced water management accessible to operators of any size.

Spacedrip (Estonia)

Spacedrip develops modular water reuse systems for commercial facilities. Founded by Joonatan Oras, Rainer Nõlvak, and Hannes Tamjärv, the company emerged from first-hand experience with the limitations of relying on mains sewerage connections, particularly at smaller, remote, and rapidly developing sites. By treating and reusing wastewater locally, Spacedrip's technology helps operators reduce freshwater demand, wastewater discharge, and infrastructure pressure.Biodiversity Track

Hula Earth (Germany)

Hula Earth helps organisations track biodiversity across their sites, addressing the growing need for reliable ecological data to manage climate risk and meet regulatory requirements. Hula was co-founded in Munich in 2023 by Florian Geiser and David Schmider, who discovered a shared passion for nature and artificial intelligence while working together at Motius. Its sensors identify species in real time from sound alone, while the platform standardises results across different site types and regions.

evolito (Denmark)

evolito delivers continuous insect biodiversity monitoring to help organisations track biodiversity across their sites.  The company grew out of FaunaPhotonics, a Danish organisation founded in 2014 that developed automated insect monitoring for agriculture. After a decade of field research, the team recognised that the same data could address the biodiversity reporting requirements facing regulators and investors. Relaunched as evolito in 2025 with a next-generation new sensor design and a focus on continuous biodiversity intelligence, the company serves organisations across energy, construction, and nature restoration.
