Amazon and the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg (OCL) are joining forces for the third edition of the Anne & Françoise Groben Prize, the country's most prestigious competition for young musical talent.
Created in 2017 in memory of Anne and Françoise Groben - two founding members of the OCL, respectively a violinist and a cellist - the prize has become a rite of passage for Luxembourg's most promising instrumentalists and singers, aged 15 to 25 (up to 30 for opera). The competition pursues a dual ambition: to crown an outstanding artistic personality, and to give emerging musicians a genuine springboard into professional life.
Applications are now open until February 15, 2027. After a pre-selection round, chosen candidates compete in the semi-finals which will take place on April 16 and 17, 2027 at Conservatoire du Nord - Ettelbruck, with the strongest four advancing to a final performed alongside the OCL which will take place in December 2027 on the stage of the Grand Auditorium at the Philharmonie Luxembourg - the prestigious stage every young Luxembourgish musician hopes to reach. The competition's top honour is the Anne & Françoise Groben Grand Prize, worth €10,000, whose winner also earns the opportunity to perform in a concert with the OCL - marking the start of their professional career and helping them establish a prominent place on the international music scene. The remaining finalists each receive a €1,000 prize, while the orchestra's own musicians award the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg Special Prize of €2,000, and an Audience Prize of €500 is also presented.
